Resumen:	Diaspores of three Aegilops species, A. neglecta, A. geniculata and A. triuncialis, were colletied in dry grassland in S.W, Spain. The seeds were classified according to position in the diaspore (detached spike), weighed individually and their germination tested. Large-type seeds of the three species started to germinate within 24 hours, while small-type seeds exhibited some delay or reduction in germination.
