My research interests are focused on Solid State Chemistry, related with the synthesis and structure of high charge expandable aluminumsilicates which are notable for many applications, such as catalysis reactions, adsorption and radioactive waste removal. I have studied the interlayer space of a new family of compounds (high charge expandable mica) as a confined space where most of the technological processes these compounds play a role occurred. The physicochemical techniques I familiarized with are XRD both at ambient and non ambient conditions, DTA/TG measurements, Solid State NMR and Neutron Scattering. I have also worked on the development of methodology for the application of Solid State NMR to the study of solid-liquid interface and the study of the reactivity of layered aluminumsilicates Nowadays, I am focused on the use of advance pulse sequence in Solid State NMR to the structure elucidation of clays and other silicate materials.
