Especialización
Dr. Sandra Pérez Solsona, born in 1971 in Barcelona (Spain). Since May 2003, research associate at Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research IDÆA-CSIC in Barcelona (Spain). She has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Barcelona. Postdoctoral researcher at State University of New York at Buffalo (2003-2006). Her work is focused on studying the occurrence, distribution and degradation of pollutants in the aquatic environment. Advanced mass spectrometry techniques such as the hybrid techniques UPLC-Q ToF-MS and UPLC-Q exactive-MS for the structural elucidation of novel transformation products and metabolites (LC-QqQ-MS and LC-QLIT-MS) for the sensitive trace determination of parent compounds and their TPs in the water cycle are employed. She is recognized as international expert in the development of analytical techniques based on chromatography coupled to advanced mass spectrometry techniques. She was involved in different EU projects (EMCO, SANDRINE), NSF projects and Spanish national projects (CEMAGUA and SCARCE). She has more 60 publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
