mecanismo global de la fotopolimerización The kinetic study of the photopolymerization of the organic component of composites prepared on the basis of Bis-GMA was carried out in different atmospheres (02 y N2) to determine the influence of the nature of diluent and of co-initiator as well as the presence of oxygen on the kinetic parameters of this process. g-Methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane (g-MPS) and tetraethyleneglycol dimethacrylate (DMTEEG) were employed as diluents and Nphenylglycine (NPG) and dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate as co-initiators. It was observed that in the system with g-MPS and NPG the value of the initial rate of polymerization (Rp) was not affected by the presence of O2. This phenomenon could be due, on one hand, to the presence in the reaction mixture of the remaining oxygen and on the other to the photo-decomposition of the peroxide groups, producing reactive species capable of contributing to the initiation of the polymerization. It was determined that Rp was directly proportional to the square root of the incident light intensity (Io) which indicated that this process occurred according to the ideal radical polymerization mechanism. In the system with DMTEEG and NPG a very similar behavior was observed but the values of all the parameters were slightly higher in nitrogen atmosphere. In the system with g-MPS and DMAEMA the values of Rp as well as conversion were notably higher when the reaction was carried out in an inert atmosphere and these differences were stronger at low values of Io. On the other hand, in the presence of N2 the kinetic behavior did not correspond to the classical scheme of radical polymerization, which indicates that the presence of oxygen affects not only the values of kinetic parameters, but also the global photopolymerization mechanism. |
