Título: | Synthesis of Gold Nanorods for Biomedical Applications |
Autor: | Pérez García, Miguel Ángel ; Bouzas, V.; Carmona, N. CSIC ORCID | Palabras clave: | Nanoparticles Gold nanorods Synthesis Surface plasmon resonance Optical properties |
Fecha de publicación: | 2010 | Editor: | American Institute of Physics | Citación: | AIP Conference Proceedings 1275(1): 84-87 (2010) | Resumen: | Gold nanoparticles are commonly used in biomedical applications due to their high biocompatibility and easy modular functionality. Their unique optical properties, such as Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), lead to a great light absorption in the visible range of the spectrum. Here, we show that the synthesis of non spherical gold nanoparticles causes the maximum absorption band to shift to the near-infrared region of the spectrum, thus avoiding overlaps with other biological tissues (eg. Haemoglobin in bloodstream). | Descripción: | 4 páginas, 2 figuras.-- PACS: 78.67.Bf (nanocrystals, nanoparticles and nanoclusters), 78.67.Qa (Optical properties of nanorods), 81.07.Bc (nanocrystalline materials: fabrication and characterization).-- Trabajo presentado al Bonsai Project Symposium: Breakthroughs in Nanoparticles for Bio-Imaging. | Versión del editor: | http://dx.doi.org/10.1063/1.3505088 | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10261/43209 | DOI: | 10.1063/1.3505088 | ISSN: | 0094-243X | E-ISSN: | 1551-7616 |
