Título: | Special issue: Diet, lipids, and cancer: From Pathogenic mechanisms to potential therapeutic strategies |
Autor: | Farràs, Marta; Escolà-Gil, Joan Carles | Fecha de publicación: | ago-2021 | Editor: | Elsevier | Citación: | Seminars in Cancer Biology 73: 1-3 (2021) | Resumen: | Epidemiological studies have consistently reported that dietary habits affect the risk of developing several types of cancer. Some dietary components (nutrients and nutraceuticals) have the potential to reduce tumorigenic processes. Lipid metabolic alterations are increasingly recognized as major characteristics of cancer cells and the accumulation of certain lipid species is considered a causal factor of tumor malignant progression and metastatic behavior. The development of therapeutic approaches to target these signaling lipids may offer promising strategies for cancer therapy. We are pleased to introduce this special issue “Diet, lipids, and cancer: From Pathogenic mechanisms to potential therapeutic strategies” aimed to present timely and informative findings on the role of nutrients and nutraceuticals in cancer, particularly those affecting lipid-related signaling pathways. | Versión del editor: | http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.semcancer.2021.05.015 | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10261/260388 | DOI: | 10.1016/j.semcancer.2021.05.015 | Identificadores: | doi: 10.1016/j.semcancer.2021.05.015 issn: 1044-579X |
