ResumenDuring last decades, our research group has been involved in the study of the reactivity of C-, N- and Oradicals derived from carbohydrates, with the aim of developing new synthetic methodologies for the preparation of chiral synthons and novel bioactive compounds. In recent years, we have expanded our targets and focused our attention on the study of asymmetric synthesis based on radical reactions to achieve chemo-, regio- and stereocontrolled modifications using, in these cases, other compounds different than carbohydrates and with the aim of exploring its potential applications in the construction of more complex chemical structures. In this presentation, I will present our recent results in the synthesis of biological active compounds, remarking that, the radical reactions which are presented in this talk, based on C-, N- and O-centered radicals, represent a very attractive tool to generate high valued CC, CN, CO and CX (C–halogen) bonds by the controlled functionalization of Csp3 -H bonds.
