Título: | Ultrafast control of plasmonic nanoantennas driven by hot-spot induced phase-transition in VO2 |
Autor: | Zabala, Nerea CSIC ORCID; Bergamini, Luca CSIC ORCID CVN; Aizpurua, Javier CSIC ORCID | Fecha de publicación: | 2016 | Citación: | CEN (2016) | Resumen: | Efficient and reversible switching of plasmonic modes at Vis and NIR wavelengths is one of the key desirable properties for tunable devices. Phasetransition materials offer technologically relevant opportunities as they can provide notable changes in the dielectric response. So far most studies have reported the effects of a global phase transition of these materials on the plasmonic response of nanoparticles and metamaterials. Unlike chalcogenide phase-transition materials which offer slow, rewritable memory functionality at relatively high temperatures, vanadium dioxide (VO2) provides an ultrafast, reversible phase-transition at only modestly elevated temperatures around 68°C.
