The introduction of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has revolutionized their morphometric modeling, making it more effective. The resulting information is essential in order to reconstruct the geological history of a volcanic area and the processes involved. The results are of great interest for the preventive management of hazards in a volcanic region.
