I am interested in linking the observed temporal variations in continental margin biodiversity down to the behavior of individuals, fostering a highly interdisciplinary research: 1. The study of species activity in relation to molecular (clock genes) and physiological (hormones, glucose, respiration, and cardiac) controls at different temporal scales (day-night, seasons), and zeitgebers (light intensity, internal tidal and inertial flows). 2. Development of IR, RFID actography, and automated video-imaging for the behavioral tracking of isolated our grouped animals (sociality) in the laboratory. 3. The use of cabled video-observatories for the monitoring of communities composition variations at different temporal scales. Development of artificial video-intelligence for animal classification (and counting). Development of data banks for the automation in data processing, aiming to explore community dynamism in relation to oceanographic and atmospheric conditioning.
