Biotecnología y microbiología agrícola y desarrollo de herramientas de control biológico para su utilización en estrategias de manejo integrado de enfermedades, utilizando la Verticilosis del olivo como sistema de estudio. Los campos específicos de investigación son: 1) Identificación y caracterización de agentes de control biológico; 2) Estudio de las bases moleculares y genéticas de interacciones tripartitas planta-patógeno-agentes de biocontrol; 3) Endofitos bacterianos beneficiosos; 4) Diversidad genética y molecular de microorganismos de la rizosfera; 5) Métodos cualitativos y cuantitativos para la detección molecular de microorganismos del suelo.
