Estudio morfológico de las espículas de las especies de la Familia Didemnidae (Ascidiacea) del litoral de Cataluña e Islas Baleares.

Abstract

On the morphology of the spicules of the Didemnid (Ascidiacea) species from the shores of Catalonia and Balearic Zs1ands.- The morphology o£ the spicules of 17 spicule-containig species o£ Didemnids from Catalonia and the Balearic Islands is studied by scanning electron microscopy. The analysis shows that the morphology and the number o£ rays of the spicules remains fairly constant within each species. The results o£ this work can be used to help in the classification o£ samples belonging to this family, from the studied and adjoining geographical zones.
