Sobre la biología de la móllera (Gadus capelanus Risso)

Abstract

[EN] A continuation of the study of the "móllera" (Gadus capelanus previously refered as G. minutus) in the easthern Spanish coast. The number of individuals living after their second year is inferior to the 1%. Gadus capelanus reaches 12-14 cm at the end of the first year of life and is guessed taht the lebgth at the end of the second year is about 17-19 cm Spawning (1951-1954) lasts from December to May. The great length of the spawning season is a consequence of the succesive ripening and expulsion of discrete batches of eggs, confirmed through measurement of ovules is fishes near to spawn.
