AbstractStaphylococcus aureus is a important pathogen associated with food poisoning and one of the main causes os mastitis in cattle. In dairy products, the presence of S. aureus is usually associated with contamination of raw milk from animals with subclinical mastitis, or with post-pasteurization contamination owing to improper handling of the product.
