Título: | Towards biochemical filters with a sigmoidal response to pH changes: Buffered biocatalytic signal transduction |
Autor: | Pita, Marcos CSIC ORCID | Fecha de publicación: | 2011 | Editor: | Royal Society of Chemistry (UK) | Citación: | Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics 13: 4507- 4513 (2011) | Resumen: | We realize a biochemical filtering process by introducing a buffer in a biocatalytic signal-transduction logic system based on the function of an enzyme, esterase. The input, ethyl butyrate, is converted into butyric acid - the output signal, which in turn is measured by the drop in the pH value. The developed approach offers a versatile >network element> for increasing the complexity of biochemical information processing systems. Evaluation of an optimal regime for quality filtering is accomplished in the framework of a kinetic rate-equation model. © 2011 the Societies Owner. | Versión del editor: | http://doi.org/10.1039/c0cp02524k | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10261/80638 | DOI: | 10.1039/c0cp02524k | Identificadores: | doi: 10.1039/c0cp02524k issn: 1463-9076 |
