Title: | Local transfer of angular momentum to matter |

Issue Date: | Jun-2005 | Publisher: | Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers | Citation: | European Quantum Electronics Conference, 2005 (EQEC '05): p. 259 | Abstract: | In this paper, the problem of the local and global features of the angular momentum of light in a consistent treatment of the interaction with dielectric objects is resolved. This process is modelled with a simple ansatz describing the field after the object, in the limits of a paraxial light beam and of a weak dielectric (refractive index ∼1), describing effects as absorption, action of spiral phase plates, as well as birefringence. The transferred angular momentum is then calculated. | Description: | 1 page.-- Also published as paper in Journal of Modern Optics 52(8): 1045-1052 (L) (2005), http://digital.csic.es/handle/10261/7451. | Publisher version (URL): | http://dx.doi.org/10.1109/EQEC.2005.1567425 | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10261/7917 | DOI: | 10.1109/EQEC.2005.1567425 | ISBN: | 0-7803-8973-5 |
