AbstractSelective adsorption resonance positions and widths are very dependent on the experimental parameters (E, θ, φ) of the wave vector of the incident atom because we are dealing with a moving threshold multichannel scattering. However, inherent widths of these resonances could be given when the kinetic energy of the resonant channel is taken as a dynamical variable. Thus, a way of relating those widths with the corresponding ones associated to (E, θ, φ) is proposed. As a result of this analysis, and when E is varied holding angles fixed, an enhancement of resonance features is found at certain critical values of these paramters. New critical kinematic peaks are quantitatively predicted for the 4He-Cu(110) system. © 1991.
