AbstractWe apply a diabatic decoupling approach to study bound and metastable levels of the van der Waals molecule NeH2. The anisotropic potential of Tang and Toennies (ref. 1), with H2 being considered like a rigid-rotor, was used. Together with two actual bound levels, one rotational predissociating level and several shape resonances are reported. Among these resonances, a long-lived orbiting resonance is found. This may be amenable to experimental detection in molecular beam scattering studies similar to those used for XH2, X Ar, Kr and Xe (ref. 2). © 1986.
