AbstractThe presence of carbon monoxide in the dienylcarbene complex [Os{=C(CH=CHPh)(CH=CPh2)}(CO)(CH3CN)2(PiPr3) 2][BF4]2 promotes a 4# conrotation of the dienylcarbene to afford [Os(=CCH2CPh2CPh=CH)(CO)(CH 3CN)2(PiPr3)2][BF4] 2 containing a cyclic alkenylcarbene ligand, via the (1-cyclopentadienyl intermediate [Os(C=CHCPh2CPh=CH)(CO)=(CH 3CN)2(PiPr3)2]BF4.
