Aproximaciones al patrimonio mobiliar de la Real Colegiata del Santo Sepulcro de Calatayud

Abstract

The spatial organization of Catholic churches and the liturgical items required following the Council of Trent, come from the Instructions of Saint Charles Borromeo, given at fi rst for his Milanese diocese, but which subsequently came to be used throughout the Catholic Church. From this time forward dates the relative uniformity of the furnishings in churches and their accessory chambers. With the passage of time, other elements needed for worship or for the participation of the faithful in liturgical acts were added. This study examines various elements added in two different moments to the furnishings of the Collegiate Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Calatayud, their relationship with the liturgical furniture of their milieu and with the artistic trends prevailing during each period.
