AbstractDecomposition of decylammonium cations intercalated in the interlamellar space of vermiculite proceeds under laboratory conditions, leading to NH4 +-vermiculite after, at least, one year storage. The reaction was studied by X-ray powder diffraction and IR spectroscopy techniques.
