dc.description.abstractThe synthesis of transparent and magnetic iron oxide/Vycor-glass (VG) composites was discussed. The glass composite was prepared by impregnation of slices of porous VG rods with an iron nitrate solution followed by a thermal treatment and a reduction process. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) was used to observe the narrow particle size distribution. It was found that the composites exhibited Faraday rotation.-
