AbstractWe analyze the active‐shell occupation probabilities of 76Ge and their contribution to the single‐ and double‐beta decay matrix elements of this isotope. Strength modifications of the nucleon spin‐orbit interaction are introduced for a better comparison with experimental data. The relation of this spin‐orbit interaction with the nucleon densities is explored, and the latter are analyzed for 76Ge in the context of parity‐violating electron scattering as a tool to extract accurate experimental information on neutron distributions.
