Título: | Thermally assisted hydrolysis and methylation of the black deposit coating the ceiling and walls of Cueva del Encajero, Quesada, Spain |
Autor: | Sáiz-Jiménez, Cesáreo CSIC ORCID ; Hermosín, Bernardo CSIC ORCID | Fecha de publicación: | 1999 | Editor: | Elsevier | Citación: | Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis 49(1-2): 349-357 (1999) | Resumen: | The black deposit coating the ceiling and walls of Cueva del Encajero, a cavity with rock art was investigated. Thermally assisted hydrolysis and methylation revealed that the material is mainly composed of methylated fatty acids, aliphatic dicarboxylic acids, benzene-carboxylic acids and phenolic acids. Their comparison with humic acid-like fractions from fresh olive mill waste waters and aged sludge obtained from an evaporation pond indicates that this material is totally compatible with a plant origin. It is suggested that the black deposit derives from the decomposition of olives from non harvested olive trees growing on the surface, above the cave. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10261/61461 | DOI: | 10.1016/S0165-2370(98)00113-2 | Identificadores: | doi: 10.1016/S0165-2370(98)00113-2 issn: 0165-2370 |
