AbstractAn amorphousMg–23.5%Ni alloy has been obtained by rapid solidification technique. An adequate heat treatment transforms the amorphous structure to a crystallised microstructure consisting of a fine lamellae structure of Mg and Mg2Ni phases. The mechanical behaviour of this structure below 200 °C is quite different from that at high temperatures (>200 °C)
