AbstractHere we report two cases of isolation of Aurantimonas altamirensis from pleural fluid and blood. The strains were identified by 16S rRNA gene sequencing. A. altamirensis appears to be a rare pathogen involved in unusual infectious processes, and must be isolated and studied at the molecular level for correct clinical diagnosis. © 2010 SGM.
