AbstractAn increase in the Al content of Mg AZ alloys from 3% to 9% allows obtaining ultra-fine grain sizes via severe plastic deformation by accumulative roll bonding. The final grain size is reached after the first pass. However, the homogeneity of the processed microstructure increases with the number of passes.
