| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | [EN] The Spanish triassic ammonoids have been found almost without exception in the carbonates of the Middle Triassic. The Anisian Ammonites come from the Lower Muschelkalk of Catalonia. The «Paraceratites» are the most frequent forms sueh as «P.» occidentalis y «P.» evoluto-spinosus; all of their macroshelís, and «P.» catalaunicus, «P.» guerini and «P.» almerai, that are microshelís or young individuals. There are also Olesites (O. villaltai) and Beyrichites (B. cognatus,). In general, they have been considered of Middle Anisian age (Pelsonian) but their morphologies and reduced sutures show affinities with the Paraceratitinae of the Trinodosus Zone. In this paper, a Evoluto-spinosus Biozone that includes a Olesites-«Paraceratites» Biohorizon is proposed. The Ladinian ammonoids are more abundant in Eastern Spain. The most complete section has been found in Minorca, where a remarkable lateral continuity of lithological units and ammonoid horizonts has been recognized. The following biohorizonts have been caracterised from base to top | en_US |
