Vida y muerte de los Megalitos. ¿Se abandonan los Túmulos?

Abstract

[ES] En este artículo se trata de formular las implicaciones que tiene el concepto abandono cuando se trata de aplicar a enterramientos monumentales del Neolítico, lo que nos obliga a profundizar en las implicaciones sociales y simbólicas del proceso de vida y muerte de los mismos, de su biografía, y previamente en ciertas cuestiones teórico-metodológicas que dirigen esta indagación. En este sentido, se plantea si existe voluntad de abandono, si es intencional o no, y sus implicaciones. También se revisan cuestiones como la periodicidad del fenómeno, la importancia de la lectura estratigráfica de los monumentos, la identificación de su temporalidad, cómo los monumentos funcionan como espacios vividos y su reflejo en lo restos arqueológicos que llegan hasta nosotros. Para ejemplificarlo, se toma un caso concreto, el túmulo de Monte da Romea (Lalín, Pontevedra).

[EN] In this article we will attempt to define the implications of the idea of abandonment when applied to the monumental burials of the Neolithic, something that requires us to explore the social and symbolic implications of their life and death, their biography, and initially a series of theoretical and methodological issues that have guided this exploration. In this respect, it considers if will of abandon exists, if it was something intentional or accidental, and its implications. Other questions are checked, as the periodicity of the phenomenon, the importance of the stratigraphic reading of the monuments, the identification of his temporality, how the monuments work as life spaces and its reflection in archaeological remains that come up to us. To exemplify it, there takes a concrete case, neolithic Monte da Romea's mound (Lalín, Pontevedra).
