ResumenUp to now, no news were known about the damages that the earthquakes of 1427 had caused southern than the area of Girona. Moreover, except for the city of Barcelona and the area of Girona, only a few news had been reported about the earthquake of 1428. The examined and edited source allows us to demonstrate that the castle of Castellví de Rosanes (near Martorell, around 20 km. to the west of Barcelona) suffered destructive damage as much in 1427 as in 1428. The source is the record of a visit to the castle in 1428, which details the repairs that it would need. Although the source does not allow us to differentiate the effects of the earthquakes of 1427 from those of 1428, and although the castle was previously damaged because of its old age, we can discern the effects due to the old age, from those due to the seismic activities, and from the ones due to both factors. Therefore, this is a significant source of information to take into consideration for the evaluation and analysis of the historical earthquakes.
