|Abstract:||An alternative phase coherence descriptor based on the Fourier analysis of phase dispersion in ultrasound data is proposed. It can be easily computed and introduced as a ponderation factor during a traditional beamforming process. Theoretical and experimental results show that, for a linear array of 64 elements operating in Synthetic Aperture Techniques, the dynamic range is enhanced reaching up to 30dB. Working jointly with minimum redundancy solutions and GPU computing we make possible the development of high frame rate SAFT imaging systems.|
