EGI: The European Grid Initiative

Abstract

The European Grid Initiative (EGI.eu) is putting in place an organization that will enable the sustainable provision of grid services to the European scientific community. EGI.eu will work in the definition, the policies and procedures necessary to deliver an integrated set of grid services to the European Research Area to support researchers in their daily work. National Grid Initiatives and European Intergovernmental Research Organizations are the stakeholders of EGI.eu, which will work together in this newly created framework to achieve this ambitious ob jective.
