AbstractThe invention relates to an analysis method employing fluorescence spectroscopy, which is used for the continuous identification and quantification of polyaromatic compounds in the gas phase and at high temperature. The invention comprises a specially-designed cell which is arranged such that the maximum fluorescence signal is obtained for a constant and stable flow of polyaromatics in the gas stream. The invention can be used in energy generation processes with a low concentration of polyaromatics and for a lower analysis cost than with standard gas/mass methods hitherto used, which do not operate continuously.
