Bazi', mawlà de 'Abd al-Rahaman I, y sus descendientes

Abstract

[EN] This is a study of a Cordovan family about whom we have information from the second half of the 2nd/8th century to the second half of the 4th/l0th century. Descendants oí a slave manumitted by 'Abd al- Rahman I, the document of his manumission has been preserved. The members of this family were thus Umayyad clients and exceIIed as soldiers and scholars. The most important member was Muhammad b. Waddah (d. 287/900), one of the scholars who most influenced the intelectual world of al-Andalus in the second half of the 3rd/9th century.

[ES] Estudio de una familia cordobesa de cuyos miembros tenemos noticia desde la segunda mitad del siglo II/VIII hasta la segunda mitad del siglo IV/X. Descendientes de un esclavo manumitido de 'Abd al-Rahman I (cuyo documento de manumisión se conserva), esta familia de clientes omeyas destacó en el terreno de las armas y de las letras. Su miembro más distinguido es Muhammad b. Waddah (m. 287/900), uno de los ulemas que mayor influencia ejerció en el mundo intelectual andalusí de la segunda mitad del siglo III/IX.
