Earth tides in Spain: preliminary results

Abstract

A summary of activities developped in Spain by the Chair of Astronomy and Geodesy of the Universidad Complutense and the Department of Mechanics and Astronomy of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas on earth tides since 1973 are presented in this paper as well as the preliminary results from the analysis of the first stations. These activities can be synthetized as follows: I. Profiles of the vertical component stations in the Iberian Peninsula, Canary Islands and Balearic Islands. II. Vertical component station of tides in Bu-Craa (Sahara). III. Permanent stations of clinometric tides. IV. Instrumental investigation.
