Resumen:	Advanced Therapy is considered one of the fastest growing areas of biomedical research and with the greatest potential to influence society by offering solutions for unmet medical needs, including the possibility of curing diseases with negligible or scarce therapeutic alternatives and developing personalized medicine. We describe here the current positioning, weaknessess and potential of the CSIC in Gene therapy, Cell therapies and Bioengineering and analyze the major goals to be achieved in these research fields in order to translate basic science to clinical applications.
