It is largely used in health-related research with projects on inherited and multifactorial disorders, as well as on the genealogical and genetic structure of the population. In this talk, I will provide an overview of the development of the database and of the approaches used to conduct health-related research projects. I will also provide examples to illustrate the various types of research, and look at how it has evolved in the past decades.
