Título: | Solar spectropolarimetry from space |
Autor: | Toro, José Carlos del CSIC ORCID | Fecha de publicación: | 28-sep-2020 | Citación: | Virtual seminar series of the California State University at Northridge on Astronomy (2020) | Resumen: | Solar spectropolarimetry is the most comprehensive way of measuring the properties of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the Sun. As such, it offers the astronomer the widest diagnostics capabilities. Through different physical mechanisms one can infer the physical properties of solar matter. This is a fascinating scientific challenge but if you face it from space- or balloon-borne observatories, science joins adventure. In this talk I¿ll illustrate pieces of such adventure showing some examples of instruments developed or being developed by the Spanish Space Solar Physics Consortium (S3PC) led by the Solar Physics Group (SPG) of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía (IAA-CSIC), in Granada, Spain. | Descripción: | Virtual seminar series of the California State University at Northridge on Astronomy, 2020. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10261/238240 | Identificadores: | other SEV-2017-0709 |
