In May 1992, a test of the seismic source system of air cannons was carried out in the new Spanish oceanographic vessel BIO Hespérides, in which a set of 17 refraction seismic profiles was acquired in the Sea of Alborán The profiles, of an average length of 50 km, covered the sector more next to the coast between Malaga and the Line of the Conception according to different orientations. A set of 24 l total capacity cannons was used as a source, triggered every 40 s (approx 100m).
