Influencia de las cubiertas seminales en la germinación de semillas de citrange Troyer

Abstract

[EN] The germination of Troyer citrange seeds is inhibited by the inner seed coat, which is impermeable to water and hence interferes with embryo hydration, the embryo itself being not dormant. This inhibition is overcome by piercing the coat, the location of the puncture either at the mycropilar or the chalazal end of the seed being irrelevant. Presoaking the seeds, with water at 50ºC for 24 hours or with a 1 to 2,5 p.p.m. solution of 2-4dichlorphenoxyacetic acid, accelerates germination. Gibberellic acid on the other hand has no effect on germination, but influences greatly the growth of the seedlings.
