Abstract:	[EN] We have demostrated a infestation of the tubes of the digestive gland of the mussel from the coasted areas of Moaña and Villagarcía de Arosa (Pontevedra, NW Spain), caused by a parasite which exhibits the morphological, histochemical and life history features of Marteilia refringens, a parasite also found in the oyster, Ostrea edulis L. from Villagarcía de Arosa, during our studies in the years 1975-1976.
