AbstractChemical and spectral evidence show that nivadiol, a new triterpene isolated from Salvia Broussonetii, is 3$, 11 a-dihydroxy-olean-18-ene. Its NMR, Mass and ORD spectra are studied and compared with those of steroids having an oxygen function at C-11.
