AbstractThe prospects of water scarcity are increasing globally, affecting all sectors of society, but especially relevant for irrigated agriculture. Indices derived from high-resolution thermal and hyperspectral imagery may be an efficient tool for managing irrigation and deal with deficit irrigation strategies. We will review the main avenues provided by remote sensing to address this issue.
