Internationalization of the knowledge on construction materials of structutral engineers

Abstract

This document analyses the current situation of civil engineers regarding the internationalisation of their studies and profession, specifically in the context of construction materials field. To this purpose, an analysis of existing data regarding the increasing mobility rates in higher education is performed, as well as critical analysis of the pros and cons of different approaches proposed to achieve internationalisation, including: common language, homogenization or promoting diversity, accreditation tools, the use of online tools and active-learning methods to ensure giving the student with tools to confront the high-demanding challenges of the each day more globalized world.
