Abstract[EN] Samples of natural zeolites consisting of mixtures of different minerals (clinoptilolite, mordenite, chabazite and phillipsite) and a synthetic zeolite (A4) have been evaluated by means of match methods to remove arsenic from drinking water with different mineralization degree. Arsenic was previously added to the studied samples in comparable contents to the expected ones in natural waters. The range of natural waters studied has been chosen as representative of several large hydrogeochemical areas in Southwestern Europe, but similar hydrogeochemical fingerprints are widespread in all continents; the experiments are focused in water treatment for water consume. The chabazite-phillipsite samples shows the highest rate for arsenic removal for all degrees of water mineralization with rates that vary from 40.0 to 78.0 %. Using clinoptilolite-bearing materials, the maximum efficiency rate obtained is 59.9 %. The natural zeolites are suitable for arsenic removal in a wide hydrochemical range. On the other hand, synthetic zeolite (A4) leachates arsenic on solution.
