AbstractIn this work we study the interaction of surface periodic nanostructures induced by Pulsed Laser Sources (PLS) in the superconducting properties of metallic Nb. The aim is to search new ways to up-grade the fabrication and processing of Nb Superconducting Radio-Frequency (SRF) cavities used in particle accelerators and to advance in the understanding of high speed PLS manufacture of periodic surface nanostructures (ripples, grooves, spikes, microholes) in metals largely unexplored at the fundamental levels.
