AbstractSi, Al and Fe dissolution by acid-base technique of Segalen is studied in a climatic sequence of volcanic soils of Tenerife Island (Andosols and Brown Soils). X-ray analysis before and after the treatment reveals that amorphous forms are not differentiated from very soluble crystalline ones (gibbsite, imogolite). Hallosyte shows two types of solubility depending it occurs in the hydrated form or metahalloysite. Fe-dissolution kinetics is quite uniform in all soils of the sequence.
