AbstractThe issue of civil society in Morocco is now a common reference for the political, social and economic actors as much as social researchers. In this study, we have chosen to analyse the actors of the civil society oriented on political purposes. The legitimate role of civil society converges towards its efficiency to promote the change of the authoritarian model of governability and the democratic transition. In this study we question the existence of a mechanical relation between the development of civil society and the democratisation of the political systems. We defend that the so-called civil society in authoritarian contexts could effectively contribute to the democratisation of the political system in the long run or under specific circumstances. However what it has induced in Morocco is the establishment of new responses and actions from the political power, which have not modified the authoritarian nature of this political system.
