AbstractThe mineralogical characteristics of vitric andosoils, strongly desaturated, are studied, in regions of 2.000-2.400 mts. altitude on a subalpine climate. The profile, are situated near the main and more recent volcanic region of the Island of Tenerife, and developed on volcanic ashes. The experimental techniques used for the mineralogical identification include X-Ray, Infrared and electronic-microscope. A discusion on the classification of these soils is also given.
