AbstractSelectivity studies were carried out during the years 1968 to 1975 in the demersal fishery off Galacia (Northwest Spain). mainly conducted to find the selectivity factors for the European hake, Merluccius merluccius, for different materials. The experiments were conducted using a covered codend, and using several mesh sizes for each material, thus the selection factors given are an average of those found in different experiments
